Conductor David Neely maintains a busy career in concert and opera alongside an active teaching schedule. Music director and principal conductor of Des Moines Metro Opera since 2012, he has elevated the company’s musical profile with acclaimed performances of a broad range of repertoire, including Turandot, Falstaff, Elektra, Peter Grimes, Dead Man Walking, Macbeth, Don Giovanni, La fanciulla del West, Rusalka, Flight, Candide, and Wozzeck. He has garnered critical acclaim for his work in such publications as the Chicago Tribune, Opera News, and Opera Today.
