With unparalleled dramatic power, the Coriolan Overture will set the tone from the first chords of the score. After this famous page, the sparkling violinist Nemanja Radulovic, with his rocker style and incomparable talent, will be the interpreter of Tchaikovsky's unique Violin Concerto. Diabolically difficult for the soloist, this work, laden with mystery, composed in the middle of a love slump, is madly romantic! The Orchestra's spells will also radiate the incandescent and fiery Earworms by Canadian composer Vlivian Fung, a delicious prelude to the heady waltzes of Richard Strauss' Rosenkavalier which restore all the charm and perfume of an imperial ball in Vienna. Sascha Goetzel will be keen to share this festive season-opening program with all the ONPL musicians and teams.
