Residency News and Updates

I had the honor, and privilege, of working with Vivian for 6 years (2004-2009). Throughout out that time I was able to learn from her in both a classroom setting and a private composition instructor. As an artist, her knowledge base is vast, but her ability to articulate is where she truly shines. Her music is able to speak to people of all backgrounds and walks of life, and her ability to educate and explicate complex topics is equally as impressive. Orchestration, world music, music history, or music theory Vivian can speak knowledgeably and informed. It is with great pleasure I get to call her friend and colleague, but I will always know that without her tutelage I wouldn’t be where I am now.
