Classical 107: MCO celebrates voice, place and connection with 2026-27 season
The MCO will make its return to the Winnipeg Baroque Festival in 2027 after dazzling audiences with its 2025 performance of Bach’s concerto for violin and oboe. The soloist of that concert, Aisslinn Nosky, will return as the concertmaster for Tilting at Windmills alongside recorder virtuoso Vincent Lauzer. Alongside works by Telemann and Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, the orchestra will share the "Celtic Concerto for Recorder and Strings" by English composer Crispin Ward and a piece called "Baroque Melting" by Vivian Fung, which the MCO performed in 2021.
“We love the festival,” says McManus of this community collaboration. “We love the atmosphere of a festival in the city, and it’s fun for us to be a part of that and it gives us an opportunity to really dig into that programming as well.”
